Toyota Texas Bass Classic - US Reel Pro Am Tourney - Amazing Experience

When Lenny Francouer of Octagon called to invite me to participate in the US Reel Pro Am day at the Toyota Texas Bass Classic I figured that I would be fishing against a group of up and coming professionals like myself.  Little did I know how special the invitation was when I found out that for the most part the anglers in the Pro Am consisted of the anglers competing in the $250,000 TTBC.  The angler list of the TTBC reads like the who's who of Bass fishing drawing the top 15 from the BASS Elites, the top 15 from the FLW Tour and the Top 15 from the PAA.  There I was at the breakfast with all of the best anglers in the world.  I have had the opportunity to meet and talk with a lot of these anglers over the last 5 years and it was great to have the opportunity at the orientation breakfast to visit with Kevin VanDam, Mike Iaconelli, Edwin Evers, Brian Snowden....the list goes on!  What an amazing field and a great group of people. (above photo is my Grandpa - Howard Ball and traveling partner Jeremy Smith with KVD at the breakfast.)

I also had the opportunity to fish with two great co-anglers, Mike Armstrong and Jeff Boxrucker.  The event raised a bundle for the Texas Parks and Wildlife department.

Congratulations to Brian Snowden for pulling off a come from behind win and taking home a great pay check of $250,000.  Brian is a Nitro Bass Pro Shops angler and was my boater back in the 2006 Junior Bassmaster World Championships on the Harris Chain of Lakes.  Way to go Brian!
