Joey Nania Fishes Saturday Benefit to Support Special Operations Troops - Hosts Baseball Great Robin Yount and Stephen Sitton, President of AT&T Southeast

Buford, GA - Saturday April 2.  Joey Nania was happy to get a check in his first PAA event on Lake Lanier and even though he didn't make the cut for day three he was excited to volunteer to fish in Phil Niekro's Fins and Skins Celebrity Pro-Am event on Saturday which was also on Lake Lanier.  The event was to benefit Operation One Voice, an organization that helps meet immediate needs for wounded or fallen Special Operations Forces Troops and their families. The weigh-in took place at the Bass Pro Shops in Lawrenceville, Georgia prior to the top 20 final weigh-in for the PAA event day three.
Little did Joey know that he would have the pleasure and honor of fishing with Baseball Hall of Famer, Robin Yount who played for the Milwaukee Brewers for 20 years.  Yount started his pro career when he was 17 so he and Joey had a lot to discuss.  Joey also hosted Stephen Sitton, President of AT&T Southeast.  Although they could only manage to boat one 4 plus pound spot they had a lot of laughs between baseball, fishing and golf stories and throwing some hopeful casts.
Among the other retired athletes and celebrities scheduled to participate with Phil Niekro include former Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox, St. Louis Cardinal shortstop Ozzie “The Wizard” Smith, Atlanta Braves pitcher Ron Reed, Morten Anderson of the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons, Steve Bartkowski and Chris Redman of the Atlanta Falcons, Kevin Butler to kick for the Chicago Bears, noted outdoorsman O’Neill Williams and Michael Finney.
Joey's recap on the day, "We had a blast.  I have never heard so many funny stories. I really like these events.  They make for a great consolation prize. Although I am hoping to make more 'cuts' than not, I will always be happy to stick around and donate time for a good cause. Giving back to charity has always been something I have tried to do with my fishing career."
