Joey Nania 2-time Junior Bassmaster World Champion and Partner Bobby Forster of Spokane Team up for Rypien Foundation

Providing Hope for Families Battling Childhood Cancer

Raise $2,000

Spokane, WA – March 13, 2010 – For the 5th year, Joey Nania – 2-Time Junior Bassmaster World Champion has donated a tournament/guided fishing package to help raise funds for the Rypien Foundation at the organization’s annual Winemakers Dinner.

This year Nania teamed up with Bobby Forster, Federation Nation Angler and host of Columbia Country Sport Fishing Show, to offer a private “Ultimate Match Fishing Tournament” for four.  The package includes 2 nights lodging at the Sunbanks Resort on Banks Lake in Central Washington.  The lake is noted for its prolific smallmouth bass population.  Also include are gourmet dinners and snacks, a regulation blast off and an authentic weigh in to determine the 2010 Rypien Foundation Anglers of the Year.

The package was purchased for $2,000 by Spokane area business executive Ralph Hamm and his wife Meggan. “I am really excited for this trip and looking forward to it.”

This puts Nania’s earnings for the Foundation at over $14,000 since offering the first package in 2005 following his first Junior Bassmaster World Championship win.  The proceeds are used by the Rypien Foundation to fund various programs intended to help families through the process of having a child who has been diagnosed and is in treatment for cancer.  The Foundation was started by Spokane’s Superbowl MVP Mark Rypien who lost his own son Andrew to cancer.

Joey Nania commented, “I was really excited about this year’s event.  I volunteered to work at the dinner and greeted guests as they arrived.  I am thrilled to be able to help by raising these funds and will continue to work with the foundation for as long as they want my help.  It is a great organization and is doing some amazing things.”
